I need a motherboard that can use nvidia sli and overclock an i5 3570k.

I am wondering what the difference is between asrock and asus. particularly between-
asrock Z77-Extreme 4 vs asus p8z77-v. the asrock one is $45 cheaper. I am looking to spend about $150 for the mobo. I can increase this budget only if it is worthwhile increasing. I need an air cooler that can take my i5 3570k to 4.4ghz.

Your help would be highly appreciated.

I would opt for the ASUS P8Z77-V PRO or P8Z77-V, the P8Z77-V PRO is a tad better OC'er, and either ASUS uses better quality components than their ASRock counter parts e.g. Intel LAN, Phase control, etc.

I see nothing about the asus that's better quality, just higher price. Intel Lan? Cmon man your gonna have to come up with something better than that. lol

Right-off IF you're a Gamer then you want an Intel NIC not some POS like Broadcom, IF you're an OC'er then you want more Phases than 8 the CPU (jagged/spiked) transitions are more damaging to the CPU not to mention no DIGI to the DRAM, etc...

Easy to say blatant 'stuff' vs back it up.

I went with the Asus SABERTOOTH Z77 ATX LGA1155

it's my understanding that the asrock's can have BIOS problems
