Gigabyte ga-z68xp-ud3/ivy bridge question.

Ok, I am building my first gaming pc and I ordered a gigabyte ga-z68xp-ud3 motherboard. I spoke with Gigabyte and they told me I must send in this motherboard for them to update the bios for it to be able to operate with my Ivy Bridge processor. Someone recommended I just return this mobo and get a gigabyte z77... what is the correct course of action?
