Can my Asus P5LD2 motherboard support dual core?

Hello,

my pc has Asus P5LD2 motherboard and currently using P4 2.66 Ghz processor? can i upgrade it to dual core or else?

According to this http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5LD2... yes.

A Core 2 Duo E6700 would probably be the best choice out of the supported CPU's. A BIOS update will probably be necessary, though.

Edit: rolli got to it slightly before me, lol.

With the AFUDOS update utility from the support site. It's a little involved and you'll need to have at least a basic understanding of DOS to do it, but if you do, it's not too hard. Just download the latest BIOS, make a bootable CD or USB and put both the BIOS file and the update utility on it. You'l need to read up on what to do from there.
