Freeze on BIOS screen

This is what i have:
LIAN LI A71F
P8P67 Deluxe
2 x Corsair XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 Desktop Memory Model CMX8GX3M2A1333C9
1 x Crucial RealSSD C300 CTFDDAC064MAG-1G1 2.5" 64GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive
I7-2600K
Asus SATA 24X DVD Burner
XFX Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit Video Card
XFX Black Edition 750W 80+ SILVER Modular PSU
Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Noctua NH-D14

So my computer's been working fine for a few months without a problem. All of a sudden when I restarted it stays locked at the BIOS screen. I tried clearing the CMOS and pulling the CMOS battery out, but it's still freezes. So now i'm noticing that my USB ports don't work either---my keyboard fails to light up (backlit keyboard). I unplugged it and hooked it up to my old laptop and that's what im typing on now. Please don't tell me this is a bad motherboard! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

More about freeze bios screen
  1. As a side note and it may be unrelated, but i was getting a BSOD once every few days for memory management over the past week or two
  2. Try booting with only one memory stick installed. Possibly bad ram.
  3. thanks for the suggestion! tried changing RAM...tried just one stick and tried in different slots...still frozen at bios screen...any other things i could try?
  4. it's weird the harddrive lights up...CPU fan is running...lan light is on...i'm can hear my disk drive spinning---can't tell about SSD because it doesn't make noise...just no USB ports seem to work and it freezes on the ASUS BIOS screen...since USB ports don't work i can't get into the BIOS menu either...is it a bad mobo you think?
  5. oh also i had an old keyboard with a PS/2 connection---that doesnt work either...i see lights flicker when i turn it on but then it stops working and the comp freezes on bios
  6. Not ram that leaves then Motherboard or CPU, usually between the two it is the motherboard.
  7. crap...so new motherboard...is there a way to determine for sure if it's not CPU...or if it is motherboard
  8. also when i get a new motherboard does anyone know how I can get my windows 7 operating system reloaded? I guess the Mobo is what windows 7 locks on to, right? Is there a 1-800 number or something that i should call to get a new activiation number or get mine reset? any help would be greatly appreciated!!
  9. Okay so i purchased a new motherboard and transferred everything over...still freeze on bios screen...so then i returned the motherboard and ordered a new CPU---just put it in and it doesn't do anything....turn it on and nothing displays on screen at all (i did go the less expensive route and buy an i5 instead of an i7 which i had previously)...anyway so i tried reinstalling the CPU and now when i turn on the computer it turns on for 2 seconds and then shuts down...my guess is the mobo is definitely bad now...but any other ideas? thanks in advance for the help!
  10. anybody? i hate to pull the trigger on a mobo again if anyone has any other ideas---thanks again!!
