Hey everyone, I am looking for a new 850w PSU for my rig to replace a defective Kingwin 850w. I am looking at these 2: CM Silent Pro 850w Modular: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171048 and the XFX XXX Edition 850w Modular: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207017

I would like a modular psu, and need at least 6 molex connectors, 8 would be better. Which of these would be better, or another that is in that price range that is better.

It is in a HAF 912 with the 2.5 and extra 3.5 cages removed, so size is no issue if it is an especially long psu, but I would like to make sure that the 8pin cpu power is longish to be routed around the back, the Kingwin one was stretched across the heatpipes on the HSF just to reach.

Thanks!

why do you say the xfx is better, and the seasonic is not modular...i wanted a modular one

Here's a review of it:
http://hardocp.com/article/2011/06/20/lepa_b_series_850w_power_supply_review/
Bear in mind that the rated operating temp of this unit is 40C and the testing conditions exceed that, so the performance numbers they are getting out of it will be worse than they would be if it was tested in conditions the unit was designed for. Altho maybe it is a negative that it is not designed to run in 50C temps...?

ya, just saying tis a seasonic rebadged & recabled by xfx. was easier just to link the actual item rather than type out name, no chance on confusion then :D
