Can someone tell me what the hpqwmi.exe executable is needed for? A
google search on this topic reported a couple of installation problems
related to hpqwmi.exe. I have had some similar problems (while
installing visual studio .net). The problems could be solved by
deleting the following entry in the registry
PendingFileRenameOperations
\??\e:\Program Files\HPQ\Shared\hpqwmi.events

But unfortunately I still could not find out what the executable does
in the system. Even the Compaq hotline was unable to help me further.
