I am buying a 17" MacBook Pro. I would like to upgrade the memory to 16GB. Which memory chips provide the best reliability, value and speed for the money? ($ is not an issue)

Welcome to Tom's Forum! :)

Anything faster than DDR3-1333 will do you no good, same on most any Notebook since the BIOS lockout's change. Keep in mind Apple officially supports 2x4GB on the MacBook Pro. I know folks have successfully installed 2x8GB kits on new models. I am assuming this a (new) MacBook Pro and not a new (old & used) one that might not accept the 8GB sticks!

I prefer the Corsair.
