I can't find any comparisons anywhere.

I am building a new machine for music production, and am looking at this:

VS

They don't really match up, but I can't find any opterons with high clock speeds, especially as they get higher like 8 cores.
Something is also telling me these aren't ideal for music.

Thanks!

LOL.

No, they will suck for "music". These CPU's are workhorses, developed, designed and sold to be used for server applications. They are expensive, the rest of their components are expensive and they are NOT worth buying unless you plan to run a local server for the community from your home. Don't buy it, rather look into the new Intel LGA1155 socket components, or wait for the new AMD Bulldozer to release at the end of the year/start of 2012.
