Dell dimension 4600 crash

Hello, my secretary today turned on the 4-5 uyear old problem free Dell Dimension 4600 - it said message corrupt - window root/ system 32/ hal.dll and then gave an errot message 0F00:0244 Message block 127461. It just won't work.

Repair install of windows (does not erase data) might work!
