Can i hook up a DSL router to a port and use 2 computers

I have 1 eithernet connection in a classroom, can I add a router and hook up a second computer from the jack

Preferably a router which has an ethernet input (one designed for use with Cable or a separate modem rather than the more common ones with built in DSL modem).
