Has anyone seen defective CPU sockets - I cannot be unique.
I bought a motherboard from Microcenter and when I got to install it - I found that there was some localized damage to some pins in the socket (about 4 or 5). Tried to return the board to Microcenter - that their return policy does not cover mechanical damage and that I must have caused the damage when I tried to install the CPU. The fact that the CPU was still in a sealed box was considered by them to be irrelevant.
They told me that it is impossible for a mother board to be shipped by a manufacturer with any defects because they are not put together by humans.
I am out about $200.
