Hey, just building a new system and wondering if the Coolermaster GX 550W PSU I got for it is enough to run it stable.

AMD Phenom II x4 965 3.4GHz
Asus M4A87TD EVO Motherboard
Asus GTX 560 DirectCU 1GB GDDR5 GPU
8GB (2x4GB) Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM
1TD WD Caviar Green SATA III HDD
External 160GB Samsung HDD
DVD RW drive
Wireless PCI Card
2 Case fans

I have no intention to go to SLI anytime soon and I'm hoping the system will last on its own for a while. So any ideas? Will I be able to safely stick with the 550W PSU?

You'll have no problem running your comp but lasting on its own for a while may.... maybe ... maybe not?

The GX series is utter crap to be honest and since both the 650 and 750 were both equally rated horribly and the 550 is the little bro of them... there shouldn't be that much difference in "quality" and we can effectively conclude it's mediocre.

It'll be fine with but be cautious.

Kind of a tough call.
The GX 450 reviewed well, wouldn't that mean we could conclude that the 550 would do well.

Oh, wait the 450 in the review is an Enhance built unit, the 650 and 750 reviews were based on Seventeam builds ( now discontinued ).

Since the GX line is based on 2 platforms you might want to ask if the OP has a D3 or E3 revision before making conclusions about quality.
