i bought a new pc from sams club auctions. it is an hp pavilion p6517 c-b. i can't find enough info on this pc to see what i can upgrade the cpu to.

i had no problem finding specs on my older gateway 838gm that came with a 3.0GHz pentium 4. i needed to upgrade to use an lg bdrom i installed and to make it compatible with windows 7. when i upgraded the cpu, ram, and graphics card the performance soared, was now compatible with w7 and the lg bluray burner. also my windows experience index went from aabout 3.0 to 4.5 which is limited by the 3.8GHz processor i out in.

now with this new pc i can't find info on the motherboard, chipset, etc to determine what upgrade options i have for the cpu. it currently has a windows experience index of 3.2 which is far lower than i would have expected on a 4 or 5 year newer pc

i'm also trying to remember a run... command that i previosly used that showed all installed hardware and other useful information. any help would be appreciated

/run then enter dxdiag. That should be what you're looking for.

Other helpful programs will be CPUid, GPU-z.
