I got my HIS 6870 today and its got great performance. I maxed out all my games but I'm having a little trouble with BFBC2. Everytime the temp goes up to 75 C my computer just automatically reboots itself. My old 9600 GT got to 77 C without these problems so I don't know whats wrong. I have it at stock clocks and the latest drivers. Is it something in my BIOS that's causing this? I've read that these cards would go up to 80 C while gaming.

Try an RMA. Maybe the card's BIOS is screwy. My hd6850 gets 80C in furmark and gets 60FPS in BFBC2. Is your RAM stable, CPU stable?

I just played Crysis 2 at Very High and the temps were at a constant 77 C and nothing wrong there.
Yea, my system is stable.

I searched it up on the BFBC2 forums and it seems like a whole bunch of people are having the same problems. I switched the audio frequency and so far no crashes :D . Although I'm skeptical that this was the problem, I had the same thing before, just different video card. I'll play some more tomorrow to find out if it really was the fix.

Alright, sounds good. My BFBC2 doesn't crash though. Are you getting BSODs?

Well, normally that means your RAM is screwy. BFBC2 eats a lot of RAM, so you might not have used the screwy RAM until now. Run MemTest86 + overnight and if you have no errors, I would RMA the card.

I don't think its my RAM. I found out that I get the BCcode 124, which upon research, seems to be a driver issue. Which makes a lot more sense, since I had a exact same setup with a different GPU running the game just fine.

Okay. Sounds good. Tell me if re-installing your drivers works. I hope it does! ;)

Ok, I'm pretty sure I've solved it now. After running Crysis 2 on Extreme for an hour without a hiccup, I knew it had to be BFBC2. The only things changed from my previous setup was the 6870 + drivers and Msi Afterburner. When I turned off Afterburner, the game ran fine.

Thanks for all your help though
