With the release of Ivy Bridge and it offically supporting up to 32GB of RAM, does anyone know where I can find two 16GB DIMMs for a Dell E6530?

Looking for DDR3 1600Mhz.

Thanks

Can your motherboard even handle that much RAM? The most I think your laptop can handle is 8GB.

We have E6520's that run 16GB of RAM and its limited by Sandy Bridge's arch. not being able to handle more RAM. IB can handle more RAM. We started buying precisions because they have four DIMM slots but we'd like to fall back to just using one type of machine.

Anyone seen 32GB of two 16GB DIMMs?

Frankly even if you could -- do you really want to? Personally, I use Hibernation and waiting for 32GB to Read/Write...takes a long time!

I have an HP EliteBook WS it offers 4xDIMM or 4x8GB whereas the Dell E6530 is 2xDIMM or 2x8GB. Specs say 16GB is it's limit - http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/latit/del...

Eventually there will be, question is when, 16GB/stick for both Consumer PC's and Notebooks -- initially it will be very cost prohibitive. Most 16GB/stick memory is Registered ECC for servers (now).
