I need a case speaker to troubleshoot my computer which just crapped out.
I dont want to order one but I have speakers and a case speaker connector.
Can I just connect my 4 ohm speaker to my motherboard connector? or am I missing something? I have all the wiring to make that happen.

I thought case speaker where 8 ohm.

If you put an speaker with half the impedance you will get double current, so I think is best to not try a 4 ohm speaker, try a 8 oh or 16 ohm

Assuming your motherboard has a 5v output, putting a 4 ohm speaker will give you 1,25 amp, while putting a 8ohm will give you 0.625 amps
