Solution
For a video card, go with this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121391
And the mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128502&cm_re=gigabyte_z68-_-13-128-502-_-Product Should save you a chunk of change.

Also consider this monitor when it comes into stock: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236122&cm_re=asus_ips-_-24-236-122-_-Product

For a PSU, check this one out: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371026&cm_re=antec_750w-_-17-371-026-_-Product It's got more juice so you could SLI later.

To bring it to $1,000, drop the SSD. They will only get faster/cheaper, so I would hold off.

Let me kow what you think of that!

Not bad! What is your GPU? You have screwed up links. I would go GTX 570 for GPU without a doubt. Native support for Mercury Playback Engine makes it a no brainer.
But asides from that, nice! I like it.

For a monitor, I HIGHLY suggest getting an IPS panel. They display color more accurately, which is important for a video editor.

And yeah, that's my short list!

P.S. You could check out this thread for ideas: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/312822-31-bestconfigs-budget-intel-based-gaming

OK I am confused about which Gigabyte Z68 and which GTX 460. I picked the following

MSI N460GTX CYCLONE 1GD5/OC GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Also added the ISP monitor LG E2370V-BF Black 23" IPS Panel Full HD HDMI LED BackLight LCD Monitor

Total after rebates $1263. Are there any other savings I can do? Different PSU? Should I not do the SSD and wait a year for the price to come down more? Or is the price good value for what I have listed?

I'm moving up the time table on this to within the next couple weeks to buy. Striker, what do you think of this mobo instead of the Gigabyte D3H? Is the ultradurable worth it?
GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

And I saw this GPU on sale, rebate it at the same price as the MSI GTX 460
GIGABYTE GV-N56GOC-1GI GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Thanks for the info so far!
