Hi.

I thought I remembered seeing a 27 inch display in Staples and didn't think it was TOO big, but I'm not sure. Do you think a 27 inch display might be TOO big, or is there no such thing (lol)? Can I get a descent 27 incher for under $300 or should I go 24 inch?

I'm upgrading from a Samsung 22 incher. Basically I want 1920x1080 res. and my Samsung only gets 1680x1050.

thanks :)

It is very big.And could be a problem if you sit close to it all the time.

Yeah, I think I'll be better off with a 24 inch LED. I can get a Samsung for under $250.

thanks :)

I use a 30" @ 25X16, and 3 X 23.6 @ 57X10, I would not call 27" too big. Screen real estate is important.

Depends on what you do, methinks. For gaming, I think 27 is overkill. Unless you want everything to look REALLY big. Resolution is what counts.

I have a 27" screen and it really looks fantastic, I was still running recent games fairly well at medium settings with a q6600 and GTS 8800. It is vast, but it's such a joy to use and blu-ray looks great.

I'd highly recommend LG. I'm fairly sure I got a screen like this:

But I'm sure it was closer to £200 than £300.

I spent a very long time looking up screens and there were a lot of contradictory reviews and a lot of screens without any reviews at all, most people kept telling me 'just buy one from a good manufacturer, and it's very likely you'll be happy with it'.

My old screen was about 22-24". Thought the screen was a good size at first, but then I started getting annoyed at the fact that I was finding it to be too small. Now I have a 30" Dell U3011, and I can tell you, given you have the right setup for it in your room, even a 30" is definitely not too big.
