WoW Build

I need some advice as to what parts to buy for a build. The only game I want to be able to play is WoW, and I want to be able to run it on ultra settings with no lag. I don't care whether it's an Intel or AMD processor, I'll go with which ever one's the better price. My budget is about $500 to build the PC, pay for the OS, and get the keyboard mouse and headset. So it's a pretty tight budget.

if your a student you can get a cheaper copy of windows, fill form in and we'll get you sorted man

Hi, i just tried to put something together but youre right, it's a very hard budget. What i would try to do is look at some used parts. I'd try to aim for something along the lines of:

AMD Athlon II/Phenom II (Preferably x3 or x4)
2x2GB RAM (Corsair/G.Skill/OCZ etc because RAM is cheap anyway.)
Cheap AM3 Motherboard
HD 5770 or GTS 450 or maybe an older but equally powerful card like GTX 275/280
450-500W PSU (I'd stick to Antec/OCZ/XFX/Corsair)
Cheap case of your choice.

I don't think you could manage that kind of build new on that budget (POSSIBLY after rebates and using some combos) but look for some bargains on ebay.

EDIT: Just thought i'd add, i'd be hesitant about a used case and PSU so you might want to get them new.

Specifically built to get 60fps on WoW on ultra settings at 1080p.

That's around $580 though, might be just out of your budget. Take a look at the $500 rig in my sig, and upgrade the graphics to a GTX550Ti from the above build. Should cost around $520.
