Installation question about dual storage devices

I am installing a new motherboard soon. The motherboard drivers are on my SSD along with other stuff to run the computer. I have a 2TB HDD that just has all my games installed on it.
The question is, can I forgo formatting the HDD? Or will that affect the new mobo installation?

You will have to blow away everything on the SSD and reinstall Windows.

Then reconnect the 2TB HD.

Then you have to reinstall all your games like before.

If you do all that, it should work without you having to get rid of any data on the 2TB drive.
