hello I have a 9600gt with a new heat sink the temps on gpu-z saids that is about 44c idle and 58c on load but the back of the card is a lot hotter than before and the heat sink is a lot hotter than the factory one I thought maybe the sensor got broke on the mount of the new heat sink so i put back the old an the temps reading was the same that I always get with that cooler so its fine that the new heat sink gets a lot hotter than the old one?

Well, it depends on how good your aftermarket cooler is. If it's not that good, then there's no point in having a new cooler.

The temperatures themselves are fine for the card, it won't damage it. However investing in an aftermarket cooler for a 9600GT is probably not worth the investment in the long run.
