My installation of Windows has been acting up lately, like it's insanely slow. I doubt it's a hardware issue since I just had Ubuntu 10.10 running on it a few days ago, flawlessly. I completely wiped the hard drive and installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. All of the hardware on the computer is less than 6 months old, but I really doubt that it is hardware related since Ubuntu ran perfectly.

Can anyone help me as to why it's acting up like this? It keeps freezing up every like 15 seconds, but only when I'm using Firefox. I was also extracting a .rar with WinRAR and it was taking insanely long.

My specs are

AMD Phenom II X4 945 @ 3.0ghz
4GB of G.Skill DDR3 1333mhz ram
Samsung Spinpoint F3 7200rpm 1TB HDD
ePower 600w PSU
Geforce GTS450

EDIT: I rebooted the computer and totally stopped using Firefox, and it seems to be running perfectly fine now, but I'm still wondering why Firefox would be causing such an issue.
