Suggest me the correct RAM for my PC

My PC has a 2Gb DDR II RAM made by ADATA (DDR2 800(6)2G*16 U-DIMM)and now I want to extend RAM to 4 Gb by adding another 2 Gb RAM to my PC. ADATA is now unavailable in my place. But Transcend, Kingston etc are readily available. Please recommend a model that perfectly match with my existing ADATA RAM.

  1. What kind of motherboard do you have? You could probably just find a whole new kit of faster RAM for about the same price as adding more. The question is, what RAM is compatible with your MOBO?
  2. My motherboard is Intel DG 41 RQ
  3. Either of these kingston modules will work:
    Kingston 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model KVR800D2/2GR

    Kingston 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model KVR800D2N6/2G

  4. What's the difference between the two..?
  5. Little difference, probably different just different IC's or some other detail that's unimportant.
  6. Do we consider the CAS latency match..other than the frequency match...? and also suggest some Transcend model pls..
  7. Yes. I considered the CAS latency match. All is matched.

    The compatible Transcend module is:
    TS256MLQ64V8U
  8. Thanks abekl, I'll consider either KVR800D2N6/2G or TS256MLQ64V8U
