Hello,
I just bought a computer with Windows 7 and I need a wireless USB adapter to work. I had a Netgear Wireless-N USB adapter and I will not recognize the device after I installed the CD. So what adapter should I buy that will work?

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

I hope this isn't a laptop because one of those which is modern enough to have Windows 7 will already have a wireless chip onboard.

When you installed from the CD, did you already have the device plugged in? If you didn't plug it in until the software was installed, it should be recognised so what happens when you put the device into the USB port? Do you see a "new hardware found" message?

In Control Panel>Network and Sharing>Manage Wireless Networks, are you sure the device isn't there?
