I'm trying to find out what kind of ddr3 memory i can use that will but 8G and run correctly with a AMD Athlon ii x4 620 2.60Ghz and a Gigabyte GA-970A-D3

I was looking at the Corsair Vengeance Blue 16 GB PC3-12800 1600mHz DDR3
But if i understand the Athlon can only run PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066MHz) X3 and X4. Is there any Memory that with work with it or should i just replace it with a better processor.

the button for the memory support list is in the upper right hand. you can always use higher clocked memory and down clock it, but not viceaversa, and amd's whitesheet claims up to ddr3-1333 on the athlon II x series. Finally If you plan on getting a bulldozer cpu in the future for that mobo, i would say at least ddr3-1600.

i know the processor will work with the new mobo i just don't know if the memory (Corsair Vengeance Blue 16 GB PC3-12800 1600mHz DDR3) i want with mix with the two

it could working or no working ? if it works vegeance will go down to adjust the existing Ram, better use kits that will be better

Don't mix RAM as it's not guaranteed to work and often will not. Order ONE matched, tested RAM kit of the full quantity you desire.

I't comes as a set of four so i don't think they are mixed. sorry I'm a noob when it comes to the ram part of the mobo. the only thing i was worried about is the Athlon saying it could run up to a PC3-8500 and the ram I'm looking at is a PC3-12800 as long as the ram will lower to meet the processor then I'll be happy.
