Yup, ASRock Z77 Extreme4 wins the battle eyes shut. Mainly B'cos of the features packed into it .
Build and reliability wise, I'd go for the P8Z77 but it's worth giving ASRock a chance.

Get the ASUS P8Z77-V, it is the winner : )

One particular feature stands out,

Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
Supports single band frequency 2.4GHz

ASUS Wi-Fi GO!
- Wi-Fi GO! Function: DLNA Media Hub, Smart Motion Control, Remote Desktop, Remote Keyboard & Mouse, File Transfer, Capture & Send *8
- Wi-Fi GO! Remote for portable Smartphone/Tablet, supporting iOS & Android systems
- Wi-Fi Engine for network sharing and connection: Client Mode, AP Mode

But, I agree with ASRock as a second option and the Gigabyte as well.

All 3 are decent boards!

true that nikorr, they all seem pretty well off but the asrock extreme 4 seems to be everyone's favourite.
I'm planning to use the asrock z77 extreme 4 or the GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD3H
I'm leaning towards the asrock z77 hmm, just dunno
the P8Z77-V seems pretty expensive though

I like that ASRock too, for its price/feature/quality ratio.

P8Z77 -V is higher than the rest of those 3.

Either way its a good choice : )

I've been looking into the p8z77, now i'm edging towards that mobo
I wont be able to connect to the net using an ethernet cable... so is the p8z77 wifi good enough to use for online gaming?

the reviews are about the same for all, just about the same features. I like the look of the asrock the best, and the gold capped capacitors are cool.

to be honest though most of these features i wont be using. I really need the wifi, easy overclocking seems handy but the rest is unnecessary
Nikorr, this is a great mobo for gaming though right? that's the main reason i'm building this comp

Your system would take one more thing, the SSD.

I know u are on the budget, but $50 is not all that much @ $1600 area : )

And this one would do it.

There are better ones, but on budget, this one is great. I have it and it destroys any HDD.

So for the system and all the small apps its great.

Your system is fine without it.
