Will this work?dvi to vga.

Hi,
I hoe this is the right place to post.I have a old 21" CRT from Sony.It only have a vga inut and the gfx card i am going to buy have dvi or hdmi(I will buy a 560 ti).I want to ask that if i use a dvi to vga adapter then will i be able to use my monitors original resolution and frequency?
Actually i want to use n vidia 3d and my monitor accepts 120hz(I tested it by connecting it to my old system and going to display setting and its shows the 120hz option as long as the resolution is not higher that a limit).
Will i be able to do it?I want to save 300 bucks for getting a new lcd with dvi or hdmi and 120hz.

1) Most graphics cards come with a DVI to VGA adapter, at least one. If not I think they are pretty standard. So yes you could use your CRT.

2) In order to use Nvidia 3D vision, all components must support it. http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-requirements.html
