Sound card not working

The audio port on my motherboard was recently broken after a family member tripped on the wire running into it. I went and bought a sound card, the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE. I tried installing but I can' t get the sound to work, im running Windows 7. I check if it would be compatible before buying and installed the drivers from the Creative site. Still can't get it to work.. Any suggestions? Thanks

Press or click the Start/Windows button. Type in the word "sound". Left click on the word "sound" in the results shown. This should bring you to the sound configuration panel.
