I have an old thinkpad 380ED, it currently
has a 166 mhz cpu. Were these just standard
cpu's as found in desktops and is an upgrade
easy and possible with this machine. I have looked
on ibm site but can't find find the right info.
thx in advance.

If you look at the motherboard, you'll realize that the CPU is soldered
directly to it. Replacing such, even if it's possible, is going to be more
trouble than it's worth.
