Soo just built my nice new sandybridge rig...
=Mobo: Biostar TP67B+
=CPU: Intel Core i5 2300 2.8Ghz OC'd @ 3.4Ghz
=Cooler: Stock intel cooler

This is the first time i've tried overclocking, so I'm a bit of a noob at this...
I used the O.N.E bios overclocking utility for biostar mobos.

Multiplier: From 28x to 32x
Base clock: 100mhz to 105mhz
Clock speed after changes: 3480mhz (avg)

And idle temps are:
Avg: 45'C
Max: 51'C

Full load torture test using Prime95 (In-place large FFT'S) Temps:
Min: 59'C
Avg: 65'C
Max: 74'C

I'm not sure about these temps, they seem a bit high... Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance :)

temps are fine. i believe intel recommends there cpu's stay below 99c for operating temp. my idle temps are 20c, normal use around 28c and full load at 70c on my OC'd i7 860@4.9Ghz. they are solid chips, can take alot of abuse.

Maybe a (very) late reply, but if you're still wondering, I have the same CPU, which used to run at the same temps for me. On the website of Intel it says the max recomended temp is ~72°C. I used to go over that a lot esspecially during a game of 64 men Battlefield 3. I bought a new CPU cooler instead of the stock cooler and my temps are now ~62°C in Battlefield. Which is fine. So if you're still having these temps I would recommend buying a aftermarked CPU cooler, mine was around €40,- and it fits in most cases.
