dear friends, i want to buy a new PCIE card. i have few question?

i am now using gigabyte g41 es2l mother board
core 2 dua
2 gb ram ddr 2
500 gb hdd

1. does gigabyte g41 support sapphire 5450 PCI E card? does G41 support PCI 2.0? i ask the both manufacture but they don't answered clearly

2. i have local power supply 450 watt. does it its a problem for the card?i heard it need genuine power supply.

3. does their is any deffer between the PCI E card and built agp? i am not a hardcore gamer. i just browse Internet and watch bluray ripped movie and play game some time. but some time my pc restarted in high graphics ( in farcry 2 game when fire burn then my pc restarted) or some high quality video. i think there is an error in built in video.

4. my ram is ddr 2 2gb. if i install a ddr3 pci there any conflict?

thank you

Solution
1. Yes 5450 will run on this motherboard, but it's a very bad card, even the least demanding games aren't running well on lowest settings
2. 450W is enough for many cards, but please post exact model of your PSU
3. yes there is difference, AGP can not be taken out, while PCI E can,
4. Yes, you can't mix DDR3 and DDR2

hi 1st thank u for ur help

1. i am a student. so i cant buy a high powered card. 5450 in my budget.it is 4500tk (Bangladeshi Tk) means 64 USD. can u sujjest me more cards in this budget. other hand i dont play game too much. maximum time i browes the net or download and see movies

2. my psu is local which comes with my cassing. the label is wiped out. price 500 tk in my country. which means 7 USD. and my cassing is also old. which i buyed with my P4 PC. it has no better cooloing system like side fan( which directly give air to prossesor). so i put 2 fan in back panel. thus this matter for over hitting the PCIE card?

3. my motherboard support the x16 thats mean it support the pci 2.0 or it worked on pci 1.1?

4. plz can u give me the datails or any link about deffer between bulit in video and PCIE?

5. i used dual OS. Xp and Ubuntu 10.10. can i find driver for ubuntu?

sorry for the lot of question . i dont have any idea about PCIE card so i asked.

Thank u again

1. 5450 should be enough for net browsing etc, if you won't be gaming, maybe try something cheaper, but more powerful like 4xxx series?
2. no 2 fans in the back are great, only sometimes side fans made a little more heat to graphic cards, but i wouldn't trust that PSU if it was that cheap
3. your MB supports PCI-E 2.0x16 and x1
4. built in video can't be taken out of the motherboard, PCI-E can be, also most of PCI-E cards perform better
5. idk

1. is 4650 or 4350 or 4850 is better then 5450? if yes which one is the best? i think it is cheaper then 5450. i some time played game like farcry 2, nfs mostwanted, burnout , hawk, trying to buy GTA 5. all work fine but farcry restarted when fire burns. and burnout dont run. it is not necessary to play game for me. i just want to watch blueray movies. plz suggest me in this price any brand of card. with low brand PSU. i heard modern card needs high PSU. a psu cost more then the card in my country. although it is not available

2. is 5570 better then 5450? it is 7 USD differ between the 5450 or 5570

i also concerned about the PSU. can u suggest any PSU? give me the model and The price.

thank you for ur help

op what's your native resolution and what's your budget?

Yes that card is supported on ubuntu as Amd supports open gl.
If your not using windows or interested in gaming at decent settings then that card would be fine

i use ubuntu for net browesing and windows Xp for other works.

i have a sumsung lcd monitor. now display resulation is 1360 by 768.budget is 4500 BD TK (65 USD)

i just play games in decent settings. now burnout dont run. i dont want high graphics medium is good.

tahnks

1. 4850 is better, but does not have DX11, but most of the games you listed don't use it and it's not necessary
2. 5570 is a lot *3 times* better than 5450
Antec, Corsair, OCZ are good companies, but if your PSU really has the 500W power then it'd run all these cards well

thank you for reply, you said " if your PSU really has the 500W power then it'd run all these cards well"

what happened if the PSU is under 500 W. is it burn my motherboard?
