Hey guys my brother and I have just built a computer, everything turns on fine and it works great but when i play video games on it the screen will sometimes just freeze. This has happened to me may times with star craft 2 I have the game on Ultra Graphs and now have changed the anti-aliasing and it hasn’t crashed since so i thought I fixed the problem. Today my little brother has been playing Champions online with full graphs and no Anti- aliasing and It has froze on him around 3 times within 7 hrs of game play. Please help me!!!!

If you need any more information please ask me I would really like to get this comp working to the max. I was reading one forum and they had mentioned that it could be the hard drive not fast enough to play games?!

I also have a 23'' Dell Monitor that i had to go into graphics setting to make screen fit so maybe that as well?!

Thanks

Hard drive doesn't affect video game performance except for loading. What kind of freezing is it? The image locks up and you have to hard restart? If so it's probably the video card. You can test this by using a different video card. It's happens, don't freak out.

I'd test the thing with OCCT running the GPU and CPU tests to see if temps are a factor.

From recent experience, first thing EVGA tech support wants you to do when troubleshooting 1155 systems is they want ya to boost RAM voltage to 1.65

Most brands list 1.5 V at all speeds below 1600 but want 1.65 at 1600. The GSkills list 1.5 as the spec'd voltage so I dunno what they'd be asking ya for in that case. Try dropping the RAM down to 1333 just to see if it changes anything.

Don't raise the RAM voltage without making sure it's within 0.5 of your IMC voltage. RAM errors give BSODs with 0x0

Thanks tons so far guys! browsingtheworld my screen will do a hard freeze and I need to either unplug it or I need to hold the power button down so I guess I’ll start by sending in my graphics card for a new one! I guess if that doesn’t work I’m going to start playing around with the ram theories!! I’m Still a noob with all this computer building stuff so Im going to that when I have someone with Exp to help me change the ram settings! Browsingtheworld If my screen freezes like that do you think it’s still the graphics?! I’ve ran that Fur test and It ran all of that flawlessly!?

Thanks all agin ill keep ya intouch once its fixed!
