Dear Tom's Hardware,
Can anyone help me troubleshoot this? I can't remember exactly when, but not too shortly ago the CD drive no longer functions.
It doesn't show up in my device manager. Actually it did once when I chose to scan for new hardware and it showed up showing Code 10.
Doing a quick search for the terms "Code 10 CD drive" pulled up an article explaining that iTunes sometimes interferes with the CD drive. So I uninstalled it and now I can't even make the computer recognize that the CD drive exists through my previous technique?
I'm running a Vista 32-bit HP pavillion dv2500 laptop that is about 3 years old.
I'd really like to have disc functionality on my laptop again.
Thanks,
-MP
