Hi I have an old linksys wrt54g v2 wireless router. Currently I am running the tomato firmware on it. I also have a new wrt610n linksys router and both are connected via an Ethernet cable. My question is can I set up the old router as a repeater for my wifi network without loosing speed? I have read that without a wired backbone the repeater can only transmit at half rate and I definitely don't want to loose speed, but I can't seem to find anything on using a repeater with an Ethernet backbone.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks in advance
