  1. Yes it will @ x8/x8 mode, which is fine.

    - 2 x PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots (PCIE2/PCIE3: single at x16 (PCIE2) / x8 (PCIE3) or dual at x8/x8 mode)
    - 2 x PCI Express 2.0 x1 slots
    - 2 x PCI slots
    - Supports AMD Quad CrossFireX™ and CrossFireX™
    - Supports NVIDIA® Quad SLI™ and SLI™
  2. What CPU?
  3. Eh okay, is it better to get a more future proof board? With 2 x16 ? If so can you link one.

Also is there a big difference between x8 and x16?

    The CPU I'm getting is a 3570k
  4. The difference between x8/x8 and x16/x16 is small.

The difference between x8/x8 and x16/x16 is negligible outside of benchmarks and some scientific computing apps that need to do massive amounts of communication between two cards or the card and the CPU.
  5. Check the scaling on these old images.

  6. If u get an after market CPU cooler, u can OC to 4.5GHz with ease : )
COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 "Heatpipe Direct Contact" Long Life Sleeve 120mm CPU Cooler
  7. U can get a card that is fast x16/x16 but it cost about $50 more than your mobo.
  8. Oh Well I'm already getting the evo fan so thats great :)

Maybe I'm gonna look a bit further into a double x16 and the prices where I live :)
  9. Does this: MSI G45 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130645 Support x16/x16 ? Its cheap but it doesn't say x16/x8 or something like that like the others...
  10. Nope.

The expansion slot area is identical to that of all the other Z77A series motherboards, consisting of two PCI-Express 3.0 x16 (x8/x8 when both are populated), one PCI-Express 2.0 x16 (electrical x4), and four PCI-Express 2.0 x1.

  11. So i'll have to get a Z79 to get a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 (x16/x16) ?
  12. Okay So would it be better for me to run with one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007627%20600093976%20600315497%20600311010%204017%20600009016&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&ShowDeactivatedMark=False&CompareItemList=280|13-128-544^13-128-544-TS%2C13-128-545^13-128-545-TS
Or should i stick with the Asrock Ex4 ?
  13. Yes, stick with the Asrock Ex4, save the money : )
  14. Okay, so now you say i should go with the cheaper :p

What do you think about the MSI GD-45 VS Asrock Ex4 ? - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007627%20600093976%20600315497%20600311010%204017%20600009016&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&ShowDeactivatedMark=False&CompareItemList=280|13-157-293^13-157-293-TS%2C13-130-645^13-130-645-TS
Here, the MSI is 20$ Cheaper.

    i Plan on using:
    1 SSD
    1 HDD
    3570K - With Fan
7850 - Possible cf in the future
Antec HCG 620WM - Although im considering the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341052 for the extra W
    Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb
In my Antec P182 Case. Also i don't know if there is a difference between how many fans you can connect, but i currently got 3 and space for one more.

Thanks for all the help btw :D
