hey guys
I'm looking to upgrade my gpu and I stumbled across these three. The resolution I play on is 1440x900 on a Viewsonic 19" widescreen. I'm not changing my screen anytime soon.
I play all sorts of games at that resolution (Fallout NV, Crysis 2, Shift 2, Metro 2033, GTAIV, COD Black Ops, etc...).
Frankly, I was leaning towards the 6850, I found that it fits my budget nicely, it only needs one power connector and I considered it fairly future proof. I don't change vga's much really, until I start seeing a noticeable performance drop in a few games.
My current setup:
- Intel i3-540 @ 3.06GHz (stock; plan to overclock to 4.0GHz if possible)
- MSI H55-GD65
- 4GB DDR3 @ 1333MHz
- Gecube Radeon 3870 512mb gddr4 X-Turbo (factory oc)
- Cooler Master eXtreme power plus 500W (30A @ 12v I think)
I'm just wondering, would the 460gtx 1g or 6870 1gb be overkill for my needs?
I'd appreciate any suggestions. Maybe something other than these 3?
