Stock i7 Temp 60c at Idle!!!!

Hello, I have just build my first system, its barely a week old and whenever I boot it up it runs a steady 60c at idle.

Here are my specs:
CM Storm Enforcer
i7 2600k 3.4 Ghz
Asus P8-Z68 V
Gtx 550 Ti
Cooler Master V8
Thermaltake 900w PSU
8gb Corsair RAM (2x 4gb)

I am really worried as I want to overclock it and I cant if the CPU temp continues to be like this.

Did you take any "tape"y plastic crap off the cooler before installing it? Did you put thermalpaste on it? Did it come with any on it?

Yeah I removed the tape off the cooler and I put thermal paste on it, no it did not come with any on it.

Did you put a thin coat across the whole thing?

Yeah, with a plastic bag over my finger as not to get oil from my fingers on the paste.

Wait, is the temperature of the CPU in Speed Fan Labeled as CPU or CORE

I beleive you should have as many CORE as you have cores on your CPU that should be the on die. Some have multiple some have 1. the CPU should be the motherboards itteration of this right below it. Can you post a screenshot of CPUZ.
