I am building a gaming rig, which is the following:

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ965FBGMBOX

Graphics card: SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card (100314-3L )

Ram: CORSAIR Vengeance 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9B

Hard drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

But I still need a motherboard. I would like to keep it cheap. Also, any recommendations on how to not spend 75 dollars on a hard drive?

Check craigslist for new or used hardrives. I just spotted an 80 gb Intel ssd for only $45, but you may need more space for games. Newegg links are broken, so I'll list them by model and price:

Biostar A880GZ am3+ for $59.99 plus $4.99 shipping has everything you need except usb 3.0
Asus M5A97 EVO am3+ for $94.99 after rebate for full size atx cases only; as no onboard video

ECS A885 GM-A2 for $44.99 after rebate plus $2.99 shipping; this board is am3 only (no bulldozer support), no usb 3.0, and atx cases only For experienced builders only who don't need fancy bios adjustments; I have used ecs, but many folks won't touch them.
