I am looking to build a computer for gaming.

I had an i5 2500k build, 8GB DDR3, GTX 560 Ti but I was told this was more than I need and recommended this build.

1,000$ budget

Strictly gaming computer

Skyrim, MW3, BATTLEFIELD 3

What would you recommend

My Resolution is like 1920x something

I was told this was exactly what I needed to max out games for the next year or so and will give me money for accessories and just money saved in pocket.

I was told this processor can be unlocked to out do the i5 even though their both way more than I need.

Is this correct?

The processor is fantastic, no doubt about that. However the vast majority of people shopping for PC's currently, including myself who just built an i5 2500k, GTX 560 Ti build last week - are infact going for the GTX 560Ti. For the games your looking at, i would certainly suggest you stick with your first plan.

"I had an i5 2500k build, 8GB DDR3, GTX 560 Ti but I was told this was more than I need and recommended this build." dont know who told you that....but they are dead wrong. If you want to play the latest games at 1920x1080 at high detail settings the above confic is what you need. Add 4x AA to that and you will be looking at a second 560ti for games like metro 2033.

Yeah Metro 2033 is a real GPU killer. On maxed settings i think the GTX 560 Ti only gives about 25-30 fps. Which is very playable, although 40-60+ is ideal for optimal gameplay taking you into SLI set ups. BF3, Skyrim and MW3 are going to be great benchmark games, im looking forward to seeing what FPS is achievable with current GPU's.

With your rig can you MAX any game out currently?
