Cache Size Compatability

Forum CPU & Components : CPUs Cache Size Compatability

I have a HP XW8000 with Two 604 Xeon Processors:

533 FSB
2.8 GHz
512 KB Cache

I am looking to uprate the processors, they are pretty cheap on the bay.

On the HP site it says the maximum cache is 1 MB, I have seen some gallatins with 2 MB.

Questions:

a - Is it worth upgrading.

b - Do HP say 1MB because that was the highest sepc at the time?

c - Will 2 MB work?

A cyber pint to the best answer!!
