Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have 2 desktop they both separately work on modem but when i hook both up on netgear router only 1 works other says limited connection I'm using wires because puters are close to each other 1 is vista other xp I've tried a lot and ran out of options I'm so frustrated please help someone ty
