My computer doesn\'t read some cd/dvd\'s

I CANT PLAY DVDS IN MY COMPUTER

do they have scratches?
is your dvd drive very old?
is your dvd drive a dust bin?

best way to test is to put those dvd into a different pc.
if they work then, get a new dvdplayer (check the cabling first...)

do you have all the correct codecs installed? if this is a burned cd/dvd, you will not be able to play it without the correct codec pack. Also, are you sure your drive is cd/dvd or just a cd?

Can they be played in a standalone DVD player or in another computer/laptop?

yes it can be played in other machines

Ill repeat:

Download and install Media Player Classic HD (Google it). The player has everything required to play a DVD.

If the DVD does not play, then it basically means your DVD drive is dead or at least no longer able to recognize DVDs.
