I would like a response from some one who owns a AM3+ board. Is the AM3+ socket compatible with old AM3 CPU heatsink. To be clear I,m about to buy a AM3+ board and have a aftermarket AM3 fan and I,m wondering if i will need to get a new heatsink?

To clear up I have the ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler

The brackets on boards are almost totally , basically every single AM3 board uses the exact same heat sink bracket I'm just not aware if the AM3+ uses the same bracket as the AM3.

Yes, the sockets are the same, I have a Asus M5A78L-M LX AM3+ Mobo, and I'm using an AM3 CoolerMaster Hyper TX3.
