Ubuntu and graphics cards

Is ubuntu compatible with/capable of running any type of graphics cards or do only certain ones work?

Take any graphics card you want... go to the makers web site... look for the driver for the linux distro you plan on using.

I have a XFX GeForce 240 GT 1GB... works great under Ubuntu 10.10...

oh nice i was going to get a GeForce 220 GT. So here:

If i wanted to run it on ubuntu i would enter linux (32 bit) for OS correct?
(Dont actually have ubuntu installed yet)

I run the 64bit version and have not had a single problem.

It is very fast....

Most applications are launched before you can remove your finger from the mouse button you just clicked to start it.

I installed my systems from a simple 4gb flash drive.
