Hoping for a little feedback guys.
Right now I'm leaning toward the 32GB set and then getting another of the same later this year and going for 64GB.
It's kind of hard to justify going that way though since after all I don't need that much RAM except perhaps to load large programs on it. It would give me more flexibility with what I could potentially do with it though.
The somewhat faster 16GB at 2133MHz (I think the RAM bandwidth of the 3930k can take advantage of it, at least more than 1600MHz) should be enough for the foreseeable future, at least with this build. So the only reason to go with the other set would be to make use of a large RAM drive, cache, or similar.
But like I said, I am leaning toward the 32GB set and upgrading it to 64GB later. 1600MHz is fast enough, and if I really wanted to I could try and OC it, though it would be difficult with that amount of RAM.
Excessive speed vs excessive capacity. The capacity would be double while the speed difference would be more marginal, though for general day to day use, the speed might be more relevant.
What do you think?
