Just bought this msi 890gxm-g65 and a fx4100 since the rep said it would work after a bios update.

I updated bios to the latest one from msi using a usb flash drive.

Now, windows will not boot up. After a few seconds of the "starting windows" screen it will go to "windows error recovery" and ask to me try the "startu repair process" or try to start windows normally again.

Either way, nothing works and it keeps doing this.

Any ideas?

Really appreciate the help.

Also have 8gb patriot ddr3 1600mhz, msi radeon hd 6570 2gb video card, ide dvdrw, sata hdd.

I cannot reinstall Windows. I get a Blue Screen error after loading the setup files, ACPI.sys error.

I tried removing RAM, switched out sticks, removed video card, removed hdd, etc. I cannot get past this point. Sometimes even the Windows Error Recovery still pops up.

I tried burning a new DVD of Windows also. Tried installing from a flash drive also, no luck.

WTF is wrong!?!!!

I solved my problem by returning the mobo and getting a new ASUS m5a97 which was the board i wanted originally anyway. So far so good. Much less painful than the MSI.
