Buying a new router help ?

Hey Guys i currently need a new router becuase well I have a problem . I have a roommate who downloads torrent and when I do anything online it's laggy . So when he downloads it means i cant game . Is there a router our there that would allow him to download without causing me to lag ? I was currently looking at this router
