The port where I plug in my DSL cable got hit

Hello,
We had a lightning strike and it appears the port where I plug in my DSL cable got hit. It's attached to the mother board so I can't take it to the store to replace it. I want to buy one on line but I don't know what it's called. I know I need to buy a card that would have that port in it. Do you know what that card is called? Is it an ethernet card?

There are a few types, Do you know the type (model) of the Motherboard?

But in general, yes you need an ethernet card or NIC (Network Interface Card)

You can get a USB one (not suggest because of the lower bandwidth of the USB Bus) or a PCI card or a PCIe Card...

Same thing happened to me a few weeks back.
