So I want to use my old OS but..

I currently have an outdated system. My harddrive has everything in my life! What ive done before is ive bought a new system and simply put it together and threw in the harddrive which runs Windows XP MCE. Anyway its been a while since ive upgraded my system. Currently have a AMD Phenom II Thuban 2.8ghz CPU. Im buying the compatible motherboard, probably an ASUS, and 4gb of RAM, since 32bit wont run anymore than 3. Anyway, I want to know if i can just throw everything together and have my set up recognize my HArd drive/OS on start up. Im just a little concerned, i really dont want to spend money on Windows 7 yet.

My question is, Will this new hardware not allow my hard drive to boot up on it?

No the hard drive will work fine if you plug it into your new computer. If you don't want to get a new hard drive because it has all your stuff you can always buy a USB data transfer cable to hook up two computers and transfer all your files.

I installed the XP OS into the Hard drive, it was my first system build. I have the Cds.

if its OEM, the license only works once

Oh then it is not OEM. I have installed it various times.
