More about 1100 1300 gaming first build
  1. You need to upgrade that GPU as the budget allows, and then get a cooler so that if you overclock it's already installed.

Let's guess you have another $200 to spend....

    MSI 6950 2GB
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127588

    Xigamatek Gaia
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233082

    Shin-Etsu paste
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835150080
  2. the gpu you have choosen is pretty weak, 4gb ram is enough for you

    G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBXL
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231427 44$

    that saves you about 40$
from this you can go with a better gpu like hd 6850.
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150505

i don't really trust that psu,
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371031

if you like that case its fine, here is another deal
Antec Three Hundred Illusion Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129066
  3. The PSU is actually fine, although for a budget this size he should do better. It's built by ATNG and the general consensus by those in the know is that it's OK. The 700W version may be pushing the platform too hard and I would not recommend it.
Here's a thread where we briefly discussed the PSU and also a link to a review
    http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6780
  4. Might also want to switch the HDD to Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB - about the same price but faster.

And agreed with the others above that for those games at fullHD resolution you want quite a bit more juice than 5770.
The 6950 is a good suggestion.

As for the memory, depending on how fraps records stuff the 8GB of memory might actually be handy.
If it for example stores it in memory first. After you do get the after market heatsink lower profile heatsinks are in order. The ones on the RipjawsX's for example should be low enough.
  5. you can save some money by getting combos :

    CPU & Optical Drive : $228- i5-2500K & Asus DRW B4 (Great Processor & Decent DVD Writer)

    Motherboard & SSD : $230- Gigabyte GA Z68X & OCZ Agility 3 64 GB ( SLI/Crossfire capable motherboard )

    OS : $95- Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64bit)

    RAM : $75- GSkill Sniper (2X 4GB) ($15 off with promo code)

Power Supply: $100- Antec High Current HCG 750 (Capable of powering two cards )

Graphic Card: $240- EVGA Superclocked 560Ti ( Great Card for its price )

    HDD: $60-Seagate Barracuda 1TB(Same)

Case : $90- Cooler MAster Storm Enforcer (Great Case)

    Monitor: $130- Acer S211H 21.5" LED Backlit 1920X1080

Total (Excluding Rebates) : 1248 USD

    Rebates : 70 USD

If this goes overbudget possible recommendation include :

    1. Drop SSD. Save $130
    2. Drop the Case to Cooler Master HAF 912 worth $60. Save $30.
    3. Drop the power supply to Antec NEO ECO 620 worth $70 (has $10 promo code). Save $30-40.
    4. Drop the motherboard to Gigabyte GA-Z68A worth $130. Save $10.
    5. Drop the Graphic card to XFX 6870 worth $195. Save $45.

Well if you have some extra money you can get a bigger size monitor as well :
    $200- Asus 24" VE248H
    $160- Acer S231H 23"
  6. Here's a build that's in your budget that I posted on here earlier today that you might want to look at. Add that monitor and Windows 7 to this build and your set to add another one of those gtx 560's later on for SLI.
